The second batch of multi-purpose service vehicles was formally received by the 24 recipient barangays following the turnover ceremony held in front of the Lambunao Government Center on April 20, 2026.

Among the barangays that have signified the purchase of a 4×4 KIA K2500 utility van (dual AC) were Hipgos, Bansag, San Gregorio, Pajo, Burirao, Cabugao, Caguisanan, Poong, Tampucao, Bagongbong, Malag-it, Lanot PequeΓ±o, Binabaan Portigo, Balagiao, Cayan Este, Natividad, Coto, Buwang, Walang, Panuran, Bontoc, Agsirab, Banban, and Cabatangan.

In his message, Iloilo 3rd District Board Member Jason R. Gonzales said that this endeavor is a shared accomplishment between the local government unit and the barangay councils with an aim to bring better public service to the grassroots.

Mayor Reynor R. Gonzales emphasized that the purchase of the multi-purpose service vehicles is considered the legacy of each barangay council and that the officials need to ensure they make use of it properly.

During the turnover ceremony, the Punong Barangays signed the Memorandum of Agreement that signified the ownership transfer.

On behalf of the recipients, Punong Barangays Regina B. Redonda of Bansag, Arlon Casaquite of Poong, and Loida L. Leal of Hipgos gave each of their responses.

Also gracing the event were Vice Mayor Arvin L. Losaria, Sangguniang Bayan members and ex officio members, department heads, heads of offices, and office representatives as well as the representatives from the supplierβ€”KIA Marikina ZOOMHUB Inc.

Currently, 44 out of 73 barangays of Lambunao already have their own multi-purpose service vehicles that they can use for emergency transport for patients and residents during crises, for delivering aid during disasters, and to support local government functions, but they are strictly intended for official use only.

In relation to these developments, the list for the third batch is now open for those barangays interested in purchasing multi-purpose service vehicles.
