Lambunao was one of the local government units in Iloilo Province recognized at the 2025 JUANA Awards for enhancing women’s rights and protection by executing excellent gender-responsive initiatives.
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)—Iloilo Province and the Iloilo Provincial Government spearheaded the recognition, which highlighted the municipality’s intensified efforts to translate gender policies into concrete services that protect women and address gender-based violence across communities.
Lambunao was one of the finalists at the awarding ceremony, along with Anilao, Igbaras, Pavia, and Dingle, who were each given P30,000 in soft infrastructure projects, as well as plaques and certificates, with Oton, Alimodian, and Pototan taking the top three spots.
Aside from that, Lambunao received several awards last week, including the Green Guardian Awards (Special Citation for the Green Infrastructure and Climate Action Award in the LGU category) and the 2025 Regional Assessment for Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils and Offices (Silver Awardee).
The aforementioned accolades were presented during the flag-raising ceremony this morning, May 4, 2026, with the presence of the members of the Sangguniang Bayan, department heads, heads of offices, and concerned LGU employees.
