Lambunao was one of the local government units in Iloilo Province honored as environmental stewards at the Green Guardian Awards, organized by community newspaper Daily Guardian.

The Green Guardian Awards aim to recognize, celebrate, and amplify the sustainability efforts of both LGUs and the private sector—showcasing best practices, inspiring innovative solutions, and encouraging a collaborative approach to environmental protection and stewardship.

At the awarding ceremony on April 29, 2026, at the Iloilo Convention Center, the Municipality of Lambunao earned the Special Citation for the Green Infrastructure and Climate Action Award under the LGU category.

Vice Mayor Arvin L. Losaria and Municipal Agriculturist Paterno S. Navarra Jr. received the plaque during the Daily Guardian’s 25th Anniversary Celebration.

The special citation is proof of the LGU’s continued commitment to promoting sustainability through practical and impactful solutions.
